The classic car market is still in Captain Crazypants mode, as shown by the recent Scottsdale Auction that kicked off the 2014 auction season. The total value of all the cars auctioned there tallied up to $249 million.
That's a reasonably significant increase over last year's Scottsdale total of $224 million, the New York Times (who else) reports. The average price of a vehicle to cross the block was $107,096 and the top seller was the above 1958 Ferrari 250 GT California Long Wheelbase Spyder. It went for $8.8 million.
It all makes a Porsche 918, McLaren P1, or LaFerrari seem kinda cheap, no?
