The Costa Concordia sank off the coast of Tuscany in 2012 and has kind of just been sitting there ever since. The Italians flipped it upright yesterday. Here's how it went down.

This wasn't a fast or easy process. From start to finish, the rigging and flipping of the boat took 19 whole hours to get it back upright. And once it was upright, it looked as you would expect: Ruined and kinda scary.

I'm actually surprised that Italy didn't leave this in the water off the coast. They have a penchant for older, dilapidated structures (Colosseum, anyone?), and over time, this could have become a tourist destination that looks pretty cool. Great dive site, too.

Oh well.
