Ferrari spoiled Ford’s ideal 1-2-3 finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and Ford tried to get back at them, protesting the rival team in the last hour of the race. Ferrari counter-protested and now both teams have penalties. Nice try, guys.
Today’s United SportsCar race at Road America was insanity from start to finish, but one lap stood heads, tails and balls above the rest: the last one. Jörg Bergmeister and Pierre Kaffer were side-by-side battling for second place, and the PC leader disappeared from TV while the guy who was second took the win.
While Americans are reinventing endurance racing in a dadaist manner, Europeans are still doing their thing at Le Mans, 86 years after the first race. And it was Audi vs. Peugeot yet again. Warning: spoilers.
