A muscle car on a slalom course sounds about as appropriate as rapper-producer Swizz Beatz as head of the Lotus creative design division, but it's happening. Get used to it. At least in the case of this massive '66 Chevelle it's been outfitted with a custom independent rear suspension from The Roadster Shop.

Seeing awesome cars photographed @ El Toro just makes me wish they would've re-developed it as a world class race track. Smack dab in southern California car culture, it could've been home to all sorts of awesomeness. Magazines could test stuff there. Automakers could utilize it. Track days a plenty without trekking to the high desert or near Bakersfield! Oh, and maybe some actual racing too.

Of course, if that was the plan, the locals would've pitched a fit about noise. Phooey. I'd pay good money to live near a track. And I'm pretty sure race cars are a damn sight quieter than the F-18's that used to call El Toro home.

Instead, we get a park. With a big orange balloon.
