You'd be hard pressed to find many cars that are more insane than the stuff TVR used to make. One of my all-time Jeremy Clarkson quotes goes thusly: "In the olden days I always got the impression that TVR built a car, put it on sale, and then found out how it handled – usually when one of their customers wrote to the factory complaining about how dead he was."
Just ask our own Alex Lloyd, who recently penned a great story about learning to hoon in his father's TVR Griffith, which he called "as close to a racecar as any production vehicle I have driven."
The photo here appears to be one of the older Griffiths, perhaps a 400. Can anyone name what model and year it was exactly? One thing's for sure: it looks awesome on your desktop. Ridiculously so, if I do say so myself.
