Ford GT40, Ford GT40, Ford GT40, right? Come on, you can do better than that!

Here's the SSC Ultimate Aero. Yes, it is ugly, but did it beat the Bugatti Veyron, the mighty giant backed up by the whole Volkswagen empire? It sure did. It also has a successor called the Hennessey Venom GT which managed to do the same.


SSC has been promising a new car designed by Jason Castriota with a V8 producing 1,350 horsepower and 1,280 pound feet of torque, and equipped with some very fat rear tires to deal with all that, but we're still waiting to see it moving.

GRIVLET - Proud of Cobalt

Blah Blah Blah Supercars.... What is more impressive?

This under-appreciated gem.

This is a pre-bailout GM vehicle that beat every other fwd car before it, setting a record at the Nurburgring:

"DETROIT - In fact, the Cobalt SS set a lap record for front-drive sport-compact cars at the "'Ring," posting a time of 8:22.85 minutes – besting the previous record by more than 13 seconds."

This has since been bested, but it was by the Renault Megane RS R26.R and then the Renault Megane RS Trophy (both of which are essentially full out race-cars on barely legal race radial tires)
