The premise here is simple. Take a farm buggy, completely redesign it to haul ass and hit jumps, put a talented driver with balls of steel in the seat and cut him loose in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Here’s RJ Anderson in XP1K3.
This is the third installment of Mad Media’s extreme off-road stunt videos called “XP1K.” That’s the model of Polaris Side-By-Side (SxS) ATV you’re seeing in action here. This one’s been heavily modified, but they’re pretty impressive little beasts out of the box.
The other flicks are equally awesome, and you can catch up here if you’ve got a little extra time to kill on the office crapper:
Here’s the first, XP1K:
And XP1K2:
The SxS scene is still young but it’s blowing up like rash on a Harley rider’s buttcheek. These vehicles are even more expensive than a decently modified used Jeep or pickup truck, but the limits of what they’re capable of seem a lot higher.
As more manufacturers enter the market, competition is only going to get more interesting. We’re going to start seeing a lot more of these at races, dunes and off-road spots for sure. Hurry up and buy one so I can get it off you secondhand in about a decade!
