Would You Take A DB5 Over A One-77?

If you like Aston Martins, we're sorry for making your head explode.

Welcome to Morning Would, where we present you with some of the most desirable, controversial cars ever built and ask what you would do to drive one.

This is a fight between the past and the future of Aston Martin.

The One-77 is a technological tour de force. It's the fastest, most expensive car Aston has ever made. It's incredibly rare and incredibly quick. Take it to your local track and it's unlikely anyone will have anything as interesting.

Take the DB5, and you might be shown up by some 22 year old in an FR-S. But you will have what may well be the most famous, and possibly most attractive, car on earth. The DB5 may not have been Aston's best, Aston's fastest, or Aston's first, but it nonetheless has come to define the brand.

So which would you have? Concours or colossus? If you think you can even decide, let us know what conclusion you come to in the comments.

The DB5. Because this:

Memphis: Roger, I have a problem...

Roger the Car Salesman: Yes?

Memphis: I've been in L.A. for three months now. I have money, I have taste. But I'm not on anybody's "A" list, and Saturday night is the loneliest night for the week for me.

Roger the Car Salesman: Well, a Ferrari would certainly change that.

Memphis: Perhaps, Mmmm. But, you know, this is the one. Yes, yes yes... I saw three of these parked outside the local Starbucks this morning, which tells me only one thing. There's too many self-Indulgent wieners in this city with too much bloody money! Now, if I was driving a 1967 275 GTB four-cam...

Roger the Car Salesman: You would not be a self-indulgent wiener, sir... You'd be a connoisseur.

Memphis: Precisely. Champagne would fall from the heavens. Doors would open. Velvet ropes would part.
