Would You Pay Ten Grand For A '97 Miata?

One could argue that the Mazda Miata is the "official car of Jalopnik." Miata love runs strong around here, and while I personally would never buy one, I can understand the appeal. But I'm not quite sure a '97 NA is worth $10,000, feel free to convince me otherwise.

This excellent example can be found at Cole Cadillac in Warren, Ohio. It looks to be in pristine condition and only has 23,000...but $10,000? A quick used car evaluation puts this at best around $3,5oo.

Perhaps the market appraisal is way off on this and the NA Miata is becoming the next collector sports car. Let's just hope prices to ascend into E30 M3 territory. Industry analysts say that used car prices are falling; it seems the Miata market is holding strong. Which all comes back to the fact that cars are worth what people are willing to pay for them. So you tell me Jalopnik, is it worth it?
