World's Ugliest Car Restored

A custom car, created by an eccentric priest, has been restored after years and years of neglect. No, it's not the plot of a made-for-TV movie on the Speed Channel, it actually happpened. Called Aurora, the car was built in the mid-1950s by Father Alfred Juliano of New York, who went bankrupt seeing his prototype of the "ultimate safety vehicle" to fruition. It was a car only a personal-injury lawyer could love (or hate, as the case may be), with a roll cage, side-impact bars, a collapsible steering column, foam-filled bumpers and a padded instrument panel. After sitting in a field in the US for years, British mechanic, Andy Saunders has completely rebuilt it from the ground up. It's an amazing story, even though you already know the ending. [Thanks to Lawrence for the tip.]
