Halfway across the country from Pebble Beach, and generally half a world away as far as the vehicles in attendance, the Woodward Dream Cruise went off with one big hitch last weekend the rain. Thunderstoms drenched Royal Oak, but that deterred intrepid Dream Cruisers not. The stolid folk employed such devices as beach umbrellas, parasols and convertible tops to keep themselves free of the taint of the elements. Others braved the torrent and proudly cruised on, sodden but unbowed. Fords forded, Dodges dodged, and Chryslers, er, chrysled up and down the strip, precipitation be damned.
