Last year, I found this 1950 Chevrolet sitting in the weeds behind an art gallery in Door County, Wisconsin. I was back in Wisconsin a couple weeks back and decided to pay the old Chevy another visit.

In between the drive-in theater and the Valmy Thresheree, I was having quite a flashback to my Midwestern roots (I was born in Minnesota and moved to California at age 6)... but something was missing. Ah yes, rust! Here's a gallery with some rusty, crusty shots for your enjoyment:

Back in 1970 my family went to Crivitz, WI for summer vacation; in nearby Marinette there was a gas station with a '39 Chevy sedan off in the trees. Of course it was "only" 31 years old at the time so it was in better shape than the '50; hope it was rescued...

So did you run into the yellow jackets again? I admire your nerve opening the hood and doors on anything that's been sitting out like that - a friend of mine used to have a bunch of old WWII aircraft on display in IL, and they got so full of wasp nests the only time you could work on them was in the dead of winter.

And what's on that label under the Chevrolet nameplate on the dash? Looks like "Minnow". (Hmm. Gilligan's Forest?)
