Why Ford's Where It's At: Outtakes Of A Smoke-Filled SEMA Preview

As we're getting ready for the Detroit Auto Show next month, we were busy cleaning through old stuff we'd done, much of it prior to the SEMA show last month. But it was in that SEMA-stained file folder where we found the above vid we'd totally forgotten to post. While attending FoMoCo's preview over at the Dearborn Development Center to see what the automaker was calling "performance" for the world's biggest aftermarket parts show, we'd captured on tape a moment at the preview which we kind of think sums up the place Ford's at right now. It's a whole lot of Mustang, trying to be made to do a whole lot of smoky burnout by a FoMoCo engineer hamming it up for the cameras. But all that really happened was the FoMoCo engineer ended up breaking something that resulted in smokey embarrassment. Hmm — we feel like much the same thing has happened with FoMoCo's product strategy.
