Why did Charlie Sheen get an ambassador-quality police escort from the DC police?

When Charlie Sheen ran late for the Washington, D.C. show of his tour on Tuesday, he somehow wrangled a police escort from Dulles Airport to downtown. Now everyone's asking who gave the OK, yet no one has admitted to approving.

Sheen, who had been in court for a child-custody case, tweeted about the help, along with a photo from his seat, both of which have since been deleted from his Twitter account: "in car with Police escort in front and rear! driving like someone's about to deliver a baby! Cop car lights #Spinning!"

DC Police say Sheen paid for the escort, but won't say who gave approval for it. Sheen was probably just happy to have the police lights ahead of him rather than behind.
