I love Kimi Räikkönen. I really do. He's got a tendency to drive blazingly fast, and he's completely hilarious. He also doesn't give a crap about all the peripheral things that come with professional racing, like appearing in ads for sponsors. Which is what makes every ad that features him amazing.
The other day we saw Kimi appear in a promotional video for Weichai Power, one of his Chinese sponsors. He looked either incredibly bored, or like he was being held hostage somewhere.
(Kimi, blink twice if they're treating you well.)
But the fact of the matter is, most race car drivers are absolutely terrible at what little "acting" they have to do for sponsors. They're at the top of their game because they can drive incredibly fast, not because they're good at shilling anything.
Which means that they tend to make hilarious commercials. Like when Ayrton Senna somehow acquired a whole new family in a commercial for Shell:
I still don't understand what's going on there. If someone can explain, that'd be great.
Think you've seen another racing driver that makes ads inadvertently ridiculous, and thus also the best?
