Where we live, we've been seeing a lot of really untoward applications of automotive paint (by "untoward" we mean "like ass"). Sure experimentation can be good, just ask the guy who invented Penicillin. Of course, experimentation lead to the Chia Pet and Tab, so not all experiments pan out. This whole thing of using plastic wrap to apply base coats, then adding 17 coats of clearcoat on top is just terrible. Don't do it.
