Replicars were once the disrespected, VW-powered half-sibling to the auto industry. Pull up in a replica, and you'd get that look, like, "Couldn't afford the real thing, huh, Sparky?" Times do change. What is the most accurate replicar ever built?
Blame Mssrs Barrett and Jackson all you want, but with prices of sought-after collector cars shooting ever higher into the stratosphere, a well-done replica is a solid substitute for a beloved idol. My pick is, hands-down, the Thunder Ranch Porsche 904, which is so many megatons of replica awesome, you'd need a fleet of Hubble telescopes to take it all in. (And a bargain at under $100,000) Of course, there are others.
