Car companies sometimes go out on a limb to be the first to a new market segment. Trouble is, sometimes that market segment doesn't pan out, and they're left with a dead ender. What car seemed like a good idea at the time?
Sorry, BMW. We know you really meant well, and it's a fine car. But either you are someday going to stick the Grand Turismo 5-Series right up our noses — when it becomes a huge hit — or we're going to continue to wonder what focus group said this was a good idea. We just hope that when the next civilization's archeologists find a GT amid the rubble of our cities, they don't assume there was some kind of consensus.
