What Car Are You Giving Up For Lent?

Today begins Lent, when the devout and dieting give up what they desire in order to ready themselves for the Resurrection of Christ. Our lusts are motorized. What car are you giving up for Lent?

What I'd really like to do is give up writing about the damn Camry. Unfortunately, that's against the spirit of Lent. The spirit of Lent is to give up something you like. I do not lust after, desire or otherwise try to think about the Toyota Camry. Lately I've been searching and thinking a lot about air-cooled VW's and Porches. Whether Type-3, 914 912 or especially Type-4 I've been on The Samba, Craigslist, eBay Motors, and all the usual suspects. I have a project car. I have a single-car garage. I don't want to be single again. Lots of reasons to stop thinking about glorious, rear-engined German glory. It'll be tough, but it'll be good for me.

What about you? Leave the hairshirt and whip at your bedside and pick a harder path: what car are you giving up for Lent?
