Two people are dead after a crash in Minnesota yesterday when a truck loaded with 17 million bees scattered the insects across the highway. Firefighters had to spray the bees with hoses to protect emergency personnel.
The truck was transporting 7,000 hives down I-35 near Lakeville, Minnesota when it sandwiched two cars between itself and another truck. One of the car's drivers was pronounced dead at the scene and the other died later in the hospital. It appears the crates were stacked on the back of the truck and then covered with a cloth.
