Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

We've made it you guys! Finally, the true, deep-down depths of Summer, when it's a billion degrees out and, depending on where you are, a billion percent humidity. I'm sure you've been looking forward to it all year. This weekend's a bit of an odd one perhaps for that reason. We're a bit light on the racing over the next two days, but don't worry – there's still plenty to whet your appetite.

Last weekend it almost seemed like all NASCAR all the time (and if you still want that, you might want to calm down, but there still is the Nationwide series), but this weekend I'd like to focus on the dirt. Specifically, there's off-road racing at Chicagoland Speedway with the TORC Series, and Global Rallycross in Brazil. Global Rallycross is the one I'm most looking forward to, to be honest, simply because it's usually pretty wild, pretty crazy, and I feel like the US has never given rallycross the exposure it deserves. Hopefully this weekend will change that, and rallycross will replace baseball as America's national past time (though I won't bet on it).

The American Le Mans Series continues its farewell tour with the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix at Mosport, which tells you nothing about where it is. It's actually in Ontario, Canada, and there's good news for the poor racing drivers in the closed cockpits this weekend. Our Great Frozen Neighbor to the North is such sweet solace from the heat, with highs in the mid-70s. Be jealous of them.

One last thing I'd like to highlight is the MotoGP race at Laguna Seca. Two Wheels Bad, I know, but Laguna Seca will always be a favorite track of mine. Not only is the circuit home to the famous corkscrew, but pretty soon I hear it will have a house on top of it. Can't wait.

We've heard your pleas and we'll be keeping the races and times in the body of posts, as well as on the map for now. Of course, please use our image annotation tool on the map above to show us races we might have missed, where they're being held, and where we can livestream them.

Get it while it's good.

All times Eastern.

UPDATE: I mentioned that this week's Global Rallycross is in Brazil. That's wrong. This week's Rallycross was actually at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee, though the air time was still the same. Apologies to the good folks at GRC, and to anyone who bought a last minute plane ticket to Brazil.
