This weekend may be slim pickings on the live racing front thanks to the Easter holiday, but that doesn't mean we can't find some motorsports glory here and there. Take this video from Highlands Motorsport Park in New Zealand where driver and local legend Craig Baird hammers the track's lap record.
It's kind of fitting that a McLaren shatters the track record in New Zealand, considering that's the country the late great Bruce McLaren hailed from. And the video is one of the better ones I've seen in a while.
We get to see the entire lap from a variety of angles in and around the car, and it's not drowned out by awful dubstep music or whatever. The MP4-12C may not be the sexiest-sounding supercar of all time, but its growl is pretty appealing here.
Take a ride with Craig as he sets a record lap time of 1.41.9. You're in for a good one.
Hat tip to Ben!
