There's been loads of speculation surrounding last weekend's big Nürburgring crash. But a video that emerged today now sheds new light on the incident. It was shot from the rear window of a car that arrived on the scene after the first collision occurred, but in time to catch the rest of the crash.
At 9:55: Approaching the 'ring's Kesselchen section, the camera car reaches the infamous construction zone. A Porsche 944 goes into the grass to avoid a stopped Renault Mégane.
At 10:00: The camera car passes the badly damaged Porsche 911 Carrera RSR, and then pauses, before maneuvering around the original dust-up between the Vauxhalls and the E92 BMW.
At 10:25: If you look toward the top right-hand corner, you can see the second collision, which occurs when the ring taxi — unable to stop in time for the slowing BMW E36 and Corvette, takes out the E36 and turns the 'Vette 90 degrees.
At 10:51: The driver sums up what he's just witnessed with an exclamatory, "Ay, yai, yai, yai, yai."
