The Audi R18 is one of the fastest cars out there at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, and every part of its design has been optimized for speed. The aerodynamics may get a bit borked when the driver’s door flies off, though.
Mike Fuller from Mulsanne’s Corner believes that lift was the likely culprit as to why the window popped out on Audi’s #9 car (and took chunks of door with it).

The team only took one minute and 43 seconds to swap out the busted door before sending René Rast back out in the #9 car. That’s how you win endurance races: everything must be a quick fix.
