Watch Porsche throw itself a crazy vintage party

The earlier video showing how 40 gorgeous Porsche race cars were assembled for a once-in-a-lifetime photo op was jaw-dropping in itself, but it had some issues. The cars were standing still. There was next to no sound. Racing cars aren't just supposed to sit there and look pretty; we have concept cars that do that for us.

Thankfully, the Zuffenhausen faithful had the rest of a three-day Monterey weekend to fix these issues and capture more video of the results. The Rennsport Reunion IV at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca brought well over three hundred of Dr. Ferdinand Anton Porsche's most potent mechanical offspring — 356s and 906s and 917s and 962s and multiple branches of the 911 family tree — and a biergarten's worth of factory drivers together for the latest, and by all accounts greatest to date, of these roughly triennial meetings of the tribe (the first was in 2001 at Lime Rock, the second and third at Daytona in 2004 and 2007).

Given that the next one should happen around 2014, you have time to send out resumes and buy Powerball tickets. Don't wait too long, though; you'll need lots of practice to manage oversteer through the Corkscrew.
