Watch Even More Cars Launch Off The Fresno Speed Bump Duo
These speed bumps have been around for a while, yet drivers keep missing them and making hilarious videos
If you're anything like me, then you enjoy watching people do dumb things. Today's slideshow is a followup post since people never learn: This set of speed bumps in Fresno, Calif. might be the most entertaining thing in this much-mocked town. My TikTok feed is full of dumb drivers making stupid mistakes, but my favorite genre of this are the compilations of drivers neglecting to notice speed bumps and going for an unexpected flight.
Other examples of morally corrupt but also hilarious bad driving compilations to ensure your first class ticket to hell include trucks slamming into low-clearance bridges and width-restrictor fails. This genre of speed bump deniers brings me particular joy because everyone makes it out okay, just a little shaken up, or a lot.
Here are 16 of the most entertaining speeders yeeting themselves off of this internet famous duo of five-inch tall, 10-foot wide and 10-feet apart speed bumps.
Soaring Sorento
The driver of this Kia Sorento must have been seriously shaken by their encounter with Fresno's Double Bumps, judging by the fact that they immediately came to a complete stop after positively yeeting their family crossover into oblivion. Thank goodness for the audio recording in the second angle, otherwise we wouldn't be able to hear the earth-shattering noise produced when integral mechanicals make rapid contact with the asphalt.
Speeding Sports Car
I can't say with certainty that this is a Mazda Miata, but that's my best guess. This little sports car see-saws across the two malicious speed bumps, doubtlessly damaging both the underpinnings in the front and the rear. It makes some nice sparks, though. I wonder if they had Tail Devils on the bumpers to encourage the sparks. Any ex-skater kids remember Tail Devils?
Freightliner Takes Flight
This clip actually made me gasp. This giant dump truck totally missed the impending Bumps Of Doom and ended up going for a ride that makes rodeo cowboys look like chumps. They hit the bumps so hard they managed to flip the hood forward.
Should Chevy Make An HHR ZR2?
This driver probably wishes they were in an HHR ZR2 given the way they launched off of the second speed bump.
Fly Like A Cadillac, Sting Like A Speed Bump
The Cadillac ATS is a compact sports sedans not meant for catching air, but this ATS could have fooled us. This Caddy's rear-end gets double jumped pretty high in the air on the second bump, thankfully with things landing rubber side down.
BANG BANG That’s The Sound Of The Police
Not even the local cops are immune to the Bumps of Doom. This looks like a police Charger that takes some beating when the driver launched it off of the bumps. Hopefully it wasn't an expensive repair considering it might be your tax dollars covering the cost of this negligence.
Sparky, Is That You?
Unfortunately we are unable to identify the model of this car, but it might as well be a Chevy Spark the way this thing makes dazzling fireworks when the driver fails to show for the Bumps Of Doom.
Bad Boys Bad Boys, Whatcha Gonna Do?
Police chases can happen anywhere, even the Bumps Of Doom. This clip shows someone speeding in a heavy duty truck, passing someone in the center median, and rapidly being followed by a police car that does not handle the bumps as well as the truck. If I was in the first car and saw a giant truck speeding towards me in my mirrors I would have clenched so hard I would have taken a chunk out of the driver's seat.
Jesus Take The Wheel
This has to be the most air I've seen yet, as what looks to be a Hyundai Kona somehow manages to remain composed despite getting bucked so high into the air that it the rear tires are level with the beltline of the Chevrolet Impala parked on the street behind it. Also impressive is the driver's commitment to the bit since they didn't even hit the brakes after takeoff.
OBS Ford Has An OMG Moment
This episode is full of some very ambitious drivers, but this extremely brown old Ford F-150 towing a trailer takes the cake. The truck would have been alright, but once the trailer starts bucking across the Bumps Of Doom, all bets are off. The second camera view captures the driver stopping right after the bumps and sending the passenger out to retrieve whatever flew out of the trailer during their flight.
Scion Goes Flyin’
This TC successfully traverses the first Bump of Doom despite some impressive speeds, but the second Bump of Doom really made up for its partner's leniency by launching the rear-end of the TC high into the air with a good spark show, too. Don't mess with the bumps.
Ram Gets Powerslammed
Some of the best videos of cars biffing it on the speed bumps are trucks that have stuff in the bed. This Ram was not happy about the excessive speed and ended up bucking a wheelbarrow at least 10 feet into the air before it bounces in the street and the driver has to reverse back to the scene of the crime to retrieve it.
Free Ladder!
This Super Duty seems slightly less super after launching off the Bumps Of Doom so hard that it threw their ladder out of the bed. By the looks of it, another, more responsibly driving pickup truck driver came up on a new, lightly dropped ladder! The universe giveth and the universe taketh away, I suppose.
Dodge Grand Scaravan
Hopefully the kids were already dropped off at school before this Grand Caravan took a heroic blow at the Bumps Of Doom. This minivan gets bucked so hard the hood flies open, and yet they seem to drive quite some distance with the hood obstructing their view.
We’re Soaring, We’re Flying
The driver of this car was going so fast that the first speed bump gave them enough air to land on the incline of the second bump causing some slight turbulence for passengers. Honestly I'd be surprised if the airbags didn't deploy because this thing hit that second bump HARD.
A Hauler Gets Hucked
This cab-over truck takes an unscheduled flight after the second bump pogos this hauler into some impressive hang-time. After the dramatic jump, the driver doesn't hesitate to continue on their drive, no stop to make sure the cargo survived. They were probably focusing on making sure their underwear was still the same color as it was when they put them on.
