While driving through a wildlife park near Beijing, some folks had a weird encounter with a Siberian tiger, who decided to chew their Volkswagen’s bumper right off the front of their car.
I don’t know much about this video, other than what’s in People’s Daily, China’s Twitter post, which says the clip was filmed at the same Chinese wildlife park where a tiger killed a woman about a week ago.
Called Baldaling Wildlilfe World, the drive-through wildlife in Yanqing County just north of Beijing is well-known as a dangerous spot. The New York Times says in March, a park employee was killed by an elephant, and that in both 2009 and 2014, someone was killed by a tiger.
Luckily, this time, the only victim was the front bumper of an MK2 Jetta. Here’s the aftermath:
You have to wonder if the tiger would have tried this with a metal bumper, or if it knew these cheapo plastic bumper covers come off with a slight gust of wind.
