Watch a Mercedes minivan from down under run a nine second 1/4 mile

If yesterday's 10 second Ford Bronco wasn't a good enough example of weird Australian drag cars we've got something even stranger—a Mercedes minivan capable of a nine second trip down the 1/4 mile.

Starting with a Mercedes Vito—the smaller cousin of the Sprinter that never made it to the US—these madmen from down under created a full blown drag vehicle wearing the clothes of an oddly shaped minivan.

Thanks to the naturally aspirated 632ci Big Block Chevy engine this weird van is capable of a very impressive mid 9 second 1/4 mile. When it comes to unusual ways to go fast it's pretty clear they're doing it right down under.
