For all its wonders, Argentina is sorely lacking in interesting cars, and now there’s one less: last Thursday, a Ferrari 456 was destroyed in an accident in Buenos Aires. The moment of impact and its aftermath were captured by a security camera.
Watch the crash and you’ll immediately stop worrying about the decrease in the number of Ferraris and worry instead about the driver of the Volkswagen Gol, the South American subcompact hit by the 456. It’s 3,700 pounds of Ferrari versus 2,100 pounds of Volkswagen, but the girl driving the Gol got lucky and escaped with “a pair of broken legs, lacerations and injuries”, as relayed by Guillermo Flynn, our man in Buenos Aires.
The crash happened on Libertador Avenue in San Isidro, a northwestern suburb of the Argentine capital.
