Big shakeups in the Wolfsburg community center today, Automotive News is reporting. Head V-dub, CEO Bernd "Fish Trousers" Pischetsrieder is leaving at the end of the year, to be replaced by Audi boss Martin "Quattro" Winterkorn. After his departure, Pischetsrieder will be charged with handling "special assignments," according to a Reuters source on VW's supervisory board (i.e., cleaning out his desk really well). The move comes six months since the board voted to extend Pischetsrieder's contract through April 2012. Apparently, the Fish man lost an internal battle with VW's former chairman Ferdinand Pi ch, who gave up his post at VW in return for a supervisory board spot for Porsche's CEO Wendelin Wiedeking. Let the bloodletting begin.
