Volvo VCC: The Laptop of Automobiles

The Volvo 3CC is an ingeniously rendered zero-emissions electric car that looks like it could be the most road-worthy of its kind — and the most producible. The front-wheel-drive 3CC, which Volvo unveiled at last week's Michelin Bibendum in Shanghai, is a three-seater — or, mother-in-law configured — with a top speed (governed) of 130mph and an (ideal) operating range of 180 miles. The current model is powered by lithium-ion batteries, like those in a laptop computer, housed in the car's double-floor. Zero-to-sixty time is around 10 seconds.
