Volvo wagons aren't exactly the first vehicle that comes to mind when you think about a performance car, but this is no ordinary Volvo wagon. Underneath the hood of this 1997 Volvo V90 is the LS1 V8 from a 2004 Pontiac GTO.
Pick (almost) any rear wheel drive vehicle and chances are someone has figured out a way to put an LS series engine in it. The Volvo V90 wagon is no different, but the result is intriguing to say the least. It may have the sedate looks of an average family wagon but it's actually a six speed equipped sleeper with 350 horsepower.
The resulting vehicle is just the right combination of strange and cool in a nicely executed package. It makes sense with a little over a day left the reserve has already been met on this sleeper, with the bidding currently at $8,400. To us that certainly seems like a lot of strange Swedish fun for not a lot of money.
