Volkswagen revealed the fifth generation of its 24-year-old Jetta model, featuring an updated body style and a new, five-cylinder, 150hp base engine. The new, larger Jetta, which will be built in Mexico, offers a new, optional six-speed automatic transmission. The new system offers Tiptronic automatic-shifting, and includes a sport mode that allows for quicker upshifts and sells beer on the weekends (not really). Price will be announced when the Jetta receives its formal coming-out at the Los Angeles Auto Show on January 5, 2005. [Thanks to Dustin for the tip.]
