This sure beats SkyMall. Google's offering free (for the duration of the flight) Chromebooks and WiFi to Virgin America passengers who will put their 'tops through the wringer, starting tomorrow. A credit card deposit's required, so don't spill your soda.

This is more marketing stunt than anything else, but you really can't complain about a free computer and precious, precious internet while you're stuck tens of thousands of miles in the sky.
