Juergen "Hemi" Schrempp will lift his head from the executioner's butcher block, and leave his post as CEO of DaimlerChrysler voluntarily — to be replaced by Chrysler Boss, Dieter "Your Ass is Mine, Schrempp" Zetsche. Shrempp, who started working for Daimler-Benz in 1961 as an apprentice mechanic, was the force behind the Deal of the Half-Decade: The 1998 "merger" of Daimler and Chrysler Corp, which resulted in a lawsuit with Chrysler shareholder (and really old person) Kirk Kerkorian and battles with the board of directors over Shrempp's leadership. Zetsche will be replaced by Tommy Lasorda, former manager of the LA Dodgers and lover of fine cuisine. (Sorry, that's Tom LaSorda, Chrysler's current COO).
