Manchester United's Anderson Oliveira had to be pulled, unconscious, from the burning wreckage of his Audi R8 moments before it exploded in a single-car accident in rural Portugal this weekend. This is why soccer players can't have nice things.

The Man U midfielder was departing after a night of partying Saturday morning in Northern Portugal when the driver of the Audi R8 lost control, plowed through a farm wall, and landed in a field a few hundred feet off the road. It's not clear who was driving, but the two-seater contained three people including a young Brazilian woman and a man named "Victor." An unconscious Oliveira was pulled out of the cabin before a fireball engulfed the car.

Surprisingly, no one was seriously hurt in the accident. Not surprisingly, Portuguese authorities think alcohol was possibly involved. Last year, Cristiano Ronaldo crashed a Ferrari 599 into a tunnel. Mockery is the sincerest form of flattery. (Hat tip to Scott!)
