Check out this gallery of pictures from the past imagining transportation of the future (i.e., now). What struck me was how invested in public transportation futurists' thinking was. Hardly anyone forsaw a lone driver in a seven-passenger van slugging dopo macciatos while sitting in traffic for 45 minutes. If they had, maybe those futurists would have put their pencils down and stuck their heads in the oven.
