It's good for a Craigslist seller to advise potential victims customers of any problems there might be with the car that's for sale before it's been sold.
A seller from Machesney Park, Ill. had to post on Craigslist to find whoever bought his Frankensteined crapcan Dodge Neon so that he/she/it could throw in the rest of the driveline that had apparently been left in a pile on the driveway when the engine was swapped.
To the person who bought my red 1999 Dodge Neon in Machesney Park today. I hope its not too late but I found 1 of the motor mounts and the tranny mount. I did drop a new motor in it, so technically I didn't lie to you, but if you have noticed yet, the engine might fall out. Please contact me ASAP so we can work out a deal. also, have a coffee can of bolts we can see if any of them fit in some of the other holes.
This is Parking Lot Mechanic gone wrong. Sure, it's possible that you could end up with some extra fasteners at the end of a repair, but you should probably figure out where they go before selling the car.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and surmise that this engine swap job had an Insane Clown Posse soundtrack and involved plenty of malt liquor and cheap cola.
The ad has been taken down from Craigslist and from reddit, where it also lived for a while. But it's still hilarious.
