Those lamenting the lost El Camino SS need only sit on a plane for 300 hours, then get used to standing upside-down while saying things like "dinkum." C'mon, we kid Australia (some of our best friends, and all); but Ozzies love their utes. GM's Holden division, which will be a major provider of rear-drive architectures for the company, just released special editions of its Ute and Crewman-aminos. The "Thunder SS" models — available in Ute and Crewman (four doors) — get Holden's Gen 4 LS2 V8, while the S gets something called the Alloytec V6. Bob Lutz once said if it were up to him, the Holden utes would come to the states, but bean counters intervened. Alas.
