Phoenix Racing won last year’s Nürburgring 24 by setting a new distance record after completing 159 laps. The car you see here is wearing their #1 sticker.

The guy I asked at Audi couldn’t tell me what happened, and the R8 was got covered up very quickly, but he did say that Phoenix Racing’s other car, #4 seems to be having engine problems. This race isn’t getting easier.

The Glickenhaus car was going steadily at eleventh until a problem with the alternator belt asked for an extended pit stop just a few minutes ago. It’s already down to 21st at the moment, with the team working hard to figure out what’s the problem and solve it as quickly as possible. We shall see.

On the plus side, I had a much needed bratwurst at the Fan Bistro. It’s a nice place.

Roughly twelve and a half hours to go, and it’s a bloody long way till sunrise.

Update: The SCG 003C needs a bit of fixing, but nothing serious, she should be back out there in ten minutes or so.
