Looks like Nebraska road crews either suck at communicating or are happily screwing with the state's drivers. A Jalopnik reader spotted this confusing pair of speed signs on I-80 in Western Nebraska this week.
Perhaps Nebraska is a strange land where the fast lane is on the left and the slow one on the right. Wait, that's actually California, Florida, and a bunch of other U.S. states. Could it be a subtle statement by highway workers that since slow drivers hang out in the left lane anyway, they might as well make it official?
We're guessing that since it's in a construction zone, the lower speed is the correct one. We can only imagine how well a "You gotta believe me officer! There was a 75 mph speed limit sign back there!" excuse would work.
