Welcome to Sunday Matinee, where we highlight classic car reviews or other longer videos I find on YouTube. Kick back and enjoy this blast from the past.
People tend to think that the XJ220 was the end-all and be-all of Jaguar supercars, but they're wrong. Jaguar actually had a number of fits and starts in the mid-engined insanity game, including cars like the XJR-15. Which, according to Jeremy Clarkson circa 1997, is crap.
The notion of the XJR-15 driving like crap is what very well could have doomed it to being a footnote of Jaguar history, but, then again, a lot of cars drive like crap and are perfectly well remembered. Yeah, Countach, I'm looking at you.
The thing is, when I was growing up I remember seeing a lot of cars featured on this Jeremy Clarkson "Supercars" video, and this video is sort of like a dream come true. A review of every car you ever lusted over from that period, including the Bugatti EB110, the Ferrari F50, and, of course, the McLaren F1. If you ever wondered what a Top Gear review of those now-classics would be like, here's the nearest thing to it.
Also, there's a classic review of a Ford GT40, so there's that. Not that I'm complaining.
