Syria continues to smolder and the fighting has become so indiscriminate that it is hard to imagine what will be left of the country once this conflict comes to an end. Barrel bombs are pretty horrible, literally rolled out the back of helicopters, but a salvo of "Grad" 122mm rockets shot into an urban environment is downright lunacy.
Last week I posted a piece showing a similar system being fired for training in snowy terrain, the effects was actually quite beautiful. Sadly, what looks pretty on one end of a weapon system can be terrifying and brutally violent on the other. Syria has truly entered a state of total war, one where any amount of violence, no matter how indiscriminate, is now totally acceptable.
