This 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE Police Car Is Beyond Wonderful

This Ferrari 250 is just as great as the story behind it. You'll barely believe it, but then again, this was Italy in the sixties. Strange things happened.

Take a bunch of successful policemen in 1962, a prime minister who wants to give them a reward, a joke taken seriously, and Enzo Ferrari being Enzo Ferrari. He throws in two 250 GTEs with their glorious 3-liter V12. One gets destroyed immediately, the other faces years of crime fighting in Rome. Then there's a military auction followed by a long sleep under a blanket.

Now, fast forward to this very moment, and imagine cruising in that car with a license plate telling everybody you're polizia...
