These Are All The Convertibles For Sale Today

There aren't too many drop-tops left, so the options are just about as limited as ever.

Convertibles ones ruled the automotive landscape, but like most great things, they've fallen out of vogue. That's what got me thinking... just how many drop top cars are left? The answer: not that many, but more than you'd think!

Full disclosure, I am a big 'vert fan, as I famously have a 2007 BMW Z4 that I equally love and hate. Luckily for me, it's one of the few remaining.

Before I get any snide remarks in the comments, yes the Wrangler, Bronco and all other removable roof SUVs count, and vehicles with multiple drop top variants like the Porsche 911 get lumped into one slide.

So, without further ado, feast your eyes on the final 34.

Aston Martin DB11 Volante

Aston Martin is one of the few companies still carrying the convertible torch. The DB11 has been around for a little while now, and while it's not quite as good a looker as the DB9 it replaced, it's still lovely.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster

Like the DB11, the new V8 Vantage is not as pretty as the one it replaces, but it's still very good. On top of that, it comes in drop-top form. That makes it perfect.

Audi A5 / S5 Cabriolet

TIL the Audi A5 Cabriolet still exists. A great day for us all, it seems.

Audi R8 Spyder

You should go buy an Audi R8 V10 convertible. It'll be gone soon, and you'll complain about how they don't make cool cars anymore.

Audi TT Roadster

Oh my God. I did not know they still made the TT. That's awesome. It'll be dead soon, though.

Bentley Continental GTC

The Continental is such a pretty car. It'll also come with a magnificent key, which is worth the price of admission on its own. The convertible top is just icing on the cake.

BMW 4 Series / M4 Convertible

I do not care what the people say, buy an M4 in convertible guise. You won't notice the rigidity differences, and you'll feel the wind in your bald spot.

BMW 8 Series / M8

The 8 series is a strange car. It's marginally bigger than the 4 series, but costs a whole lot more. I guess you're paying for a not heinous grille, which may be worth it in the end.

BMW Z4

The best car on the list in my unbiased opinion.

Chevrolet Camaro

Don't expect the Camaro to be too long for this world. If you want one, act sooner rather than later. It's a good car if you can get past some of the strange styling decisions.

Chevrolet Corvette

The Corvette is all about the removable roof. If you don't want to spring for the folding hardtop, don't worry. Even the base 'Vette comes standard with a removable targa top. Bless you, Chevy.

Ferrari 296 GTS

If you buy a Ferrari that isn't a convertible you're a putz. Don't pretend you don't want people to look at you. You're in a Ferrari, of course you want people to look.

Ferrari 812 GTS

A front-engined V12 Ferrari is probably as good as life can get. I'll never know since I am very poor, but it does seem nice.

Ferrari SF90 Spider

This thing has about 1,ooo horsepower, and that's why you should want it in convertible form. That way, when you hit a tree going 1,000,000 mph, you'll be flung to safety. That's just science.

Ferrari F8 Spider

It's a safe bet that the F8 won't be around much longer. Its replacement (the 296) is already here. So, now's your last chance to get a mid-engine, V8 Ferrari convertible.

Ferrari Portofino M

The entry-level Ferrari convertible is so much better looking than the California T it replaces that it's sort of crazy. I also think it's prettier than the hardtop-only Roma. You can even bring two rear seat passengers along... if they don't have legs.

Ford Bronco

Yes, this counts as a convertible. No, I do not care what you think.

Ford Mustang Convertible

If you buy a non-convertible Mustang you hate fun. I don't make the rules. You'll be able to hear the Coyote V8 even better with the roof down, too.

GMC Hummer EV

IT COUNTS. Plus, it's the only car on sale with T-tops... in the rear anyway.

Jaguar F-Type

The F-Type may be older than time itself, but it still looks great in roadster form.

Jeep Wrangler

See: Ford Bronco.

Jeep Gladiator

This is the only true convertible pickup truck on the market. Yes, I guess the Hummer EV is a pickup, but that bed isn't terribly useable.

Lamborghini Huricán EVO Spyder

This is very pretty and very good.

Lexus LC500 Convertible

The LC500 may be the best-looking car on sale today, and cutting the roof off has only improved things. Plus, you can hear that glorious V8 rumble even better.

Mazda MX-5 Miata

The MX-5 is the quintessential convertible sports car, and if you don't want to deal with a rag top, the folding metal roof RF is here to help.

McLaren 720S Spider

This is another one of those "you'll be going so fast when you crash it's better off if you're thrown from the vehicle" cars.

Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster

AMG's first purpose-built sports car is still a looker after all this time, and not having a roof only helps its case.

Mercedes C-Class

Much like the Audi A5 Cabriolet, I didn't know this guy was still around either. But hey, options are great to have!

Mercedes E-Class

A C-Class Convertible if you put it in a printer and hit "plus 25 percent." It looks quite good still, and it's pretty much your only option in this size class category.

Mercedes SL-Class

This SL is all new for the first time in a long time, and it looks fantastic! Gone is the folding metal roof of more recent generations. In its place is a much simpler soft top. The trunk still has plenty of room for golf clubs, don't worry.

Mini Cooper Convertible

This seems to be the only way you can get an EV convertible, so if you're into this sort of thing it's slim pickings.

Porsche 718 Boxster

How dare you even consider buying a Cayman over a Boxster. Do not be a goofus. You won't be able to tell the difference in terms of driving dynamics. I do not care what you say.

Porsche 911 Cabriolet

Porsche gives 911 buyers a couple of different options when it comes to drop-tops. You can either have the Cabriolet (which I don't love the look of), or the Targa (which I do love the look of).

Rolls Royce Dawn

If you're a fancy fella and want a convertible, this is really your only option. The suicide doors are cool, but the teak decking at the back is AWESOME. People will think you're a bad person, though. That seems like a price worth paying, if you ask me.
