The Truth About Toyota Pricing

Robert Farago weighs in on Toyota chairman Hiroshi Okuda's recently proffered idea that to help Detroit out, Toyota should raise the prices of its vehicles to make American cars more appealing to consumers. As Farago puts it, "Of course, from a marketing point of view, Okuda s offer was a masterstroke; potential car buyers now have good reason to believe that Toyotas are underpriced. From an industry point of view, Okuda placed not one but two elephants in the room." We're picturing Rick Wagoner and Bill Ford sharing an apartment with two pachyderms. Kinda like Oscar and Felix, but with an added dose of Wildboyz-style hilarity.
