The Subaru Justy Is The Humble Little Off-Roader America Never Thinks About

When we think of off-roaders in the good ol’ United States of America, we usually think of a truck. However, lunatics in other countries see just as much off-road time in a Japanese budget subcompact as your buddy does in his beloved Jeep. All-wheel-drive for the win?

Here it is forcing its way up and over terrain clearly not meant for a car. Wheels in the air? Don’t care!

Got ruts? Ain’t care.

I just love seeing this little peanut getting dirty. Marvel at its fender flares, knobbier than usual tires and snorkel. There’s a whole series of videos where it tries to force its way down this frozen pond that’s accumulated in a deep part of a creek bed, but let’s skip to its last run (of four!), where it gets really dirty.

Just because it didn’t make it through that one, though, doesn’t mean it won’t ford any more rivers. Au contraire!

This humble Justy is a rugged car made for rugged stuff, and don’t you dare mistake it for a grocery-getter unless those groceries are in the forest nestled among a pack of angry bears.
