The solution to sudden unintended acceleration is manual transmissions

David Champion, head of auto testing for Consumer Reports, provided a perfect cure for sudden unintended acceleration to CNN Money yesterday.

Truly deserving of an "Excellent" rating in our book, Champion suggested:

"The one thing we could do would be to ban automatic transmissions altogether and sell only manuals".

We are almost as overjoyed by the fleeting pipe dream of a world with only manual transmissions as we are shocked someone at Consumer Reports has a sense of humor. (Hat tip to Se7en_speed!)
