Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato: This Is It

The Aston Martin Vanquish is a sleek, V12-powered grand tourer wrapped in carbon fiber bodywork. But that wasn’t enough for famously weird coachbuilder Zagato, which transformed the car into the Aston Martin Zagato Vanquish, a sleek, V12-powered grand tourer wrapped in carbon fiber bodywork.

Aston Martin says that this thing is only the fifth partnership between Aston and Zagato, following the fantasy garage DB4 of the ‘60s, the lustworthy box-on-wheels V8 Vantage of the ‘80s, the big mouth bass DB7 of the ‘00s, and the lightweight but strange V12 Vantage of the ‘10s. Strangely, that leaves out those weird DBS/DB9 twins from 2014.

This Zagato Vanquish does get 24 more horsepower than the standard car, up to 592, but Zagato isn’t interested in publishing any specific performance claims. The car gets Zagato’s classic double bubble roof, their visor-style greenhouse, and a few other of their styling trademarks.

The car will debut in person at Villa d’Este this weekend. If you’re near Lake Como, it’s the place to be.
