Johnson's putting in his final season in NHRA Pro Stock, which isn't news to quarter-mile fans. However, what's cool is that with every race of the season, WJ's cohorts at the National Hot Rod Association have put up a page that details Johnson's first appearance at a race, as well as his first and last wins. Cool reminiscences abound, like the time Johnson lost a race due to flying straw in a carb's high-speed air bleed, as well as a harrowing tale of exiting the traps sideways (due to a gust of wind and an Olds Cutlass that made 600 lbs of lift at speed). Plus, Johnson turns in a candid take on each of the POWERade series' tracks. Mad science, indeed.
